Aging Infrastructure and Tanks

More than one-third of tanks in operation are older than 30 years. This raises questions for some about their risk of release and their eligibility for financial assurance as required by federal tank regulations. Insurance companies and state tank funds apply different policies related to tank age and some tank owners may not understand their options to remain compliant as their systems age. This panel will look at the state of the UST inventory, the policies that relate to risk and age and provide tank owners with more clarity about how to proceed with their aging infrastructure.
