Why was the NACS Show cancelled in July?
As part of daily communications with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), NACS was informed that the 2020 NACS Show, scheduled for October 11-14, cannot be held due to the ongoing pandemic. It was cancelled due to the latest State of Nevada virus mitigation mandate that limited group gatherings to 50 people or less.

Will there be a virtual event?
Yes, there will be a virtual experience, available this fall. This is not simply a transfer of the live, in-person experience of the NACS Show to a virtual offer. Instead, we are replicating the elements that can deliver the most value in a digital environment. The NACS virtual experience will take the three most important elements of the in-person event—education, access to new products and retailer/supplier connections—and incorporate them into innovative tools for users to meaningfully engage and improve their businesses. NACS will announce details about the comprehensive experience and registration information in August.

What other programs will NACS offer to fill the gap left by the show cancellation?
Everyone comes to the NACS Show for a different reason, so we are identifying how we can replicate the most important elements of education, access to new products and retailer/supplier connections and customize them as much as possible for each person, via our new virtual experience.

At the same time, we are looking ahead to 2021. While it is difficult to determine to what extent the pandemic will affect in-person events in 2021 at this point, NACS is applying the knowledge gained in working with health experts to determine how we can plan for safe and productive in-person events, if allowed to do so based on external conditions.

Beyond in-person events, NACS has a comprehensive suite of communications platforms to share knowledge with members and industry stakeholders, from our online NACS Daily news to our weekly Convenience Matters podcasts to our monthly NACS Magazine. NACS also has a robust set of playbooks and toolkits at www.convenience.org, on-demand webinars and shares news via social media: Follow NACS on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

How can I get a refund for the 2020 NACS Show?
NACS will be directly communicating to registered attendees and exhibitors no later than August 7 to quickly facilitate full refunds for the event. Registrants have four options for refunds.
