Shiv Patel is a dynamic entrepreneur with over 16 years of experience leading small to medium-sized enterprises, with deep expertise across finance, operations, IT, HR, and accounting. As President of Heas Energy, Shiv oversees fuel distribution and the operation of Express Lane Markets — a growing convenience store chain serving central Virginia.
Under his leadership, Express Lane has expanded its footprint while focusing on operational excellence, strategic growth, and team development. Shiv’s hands-on leadership style and keen understanding of retail, fuel supply, and consumer behavior have made him a driving force in the region’s c-store landscape. His strengths in financial analysis, supply chain optimization, and customer experience continue to fuel sustained business growth.
An active industry advocate, Shiv has served on the Board of the Virginia Asian American Store Owners Association (VAASOA) since 2010 and currently serves as its President. He also lends his leadership to the Advisory Board of Global Surgical Expedition.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Shiv holds an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University.
