Jim Rocco

Jim is a principal in Sage Risk Solutions LLC with over 40 years of experience in the energy industry. His experience has led him to serve in numerous capacities including advising the petroleum industry on the safe handling, storage, and distribution of various fuels for transportation and energy use, environmental compliance, sustainable property reuse and disposition, as well as emerging issues impacting the industry such as the transition to alternative and renewable fuels and electric vehicle charging. He was employed by BP for 25 years where he managed maintenance, construction, and environmental compliance for marketing and bulk storage facilities. Jim is chairman of the Ohio Petroleum UST Release Compensation Board and a member of the Board since it was formed by the Ohio Legislature in July 1989. He currently provides technical support to the Energy Marketers of America (EMA) and represents EMA on various Technical Committees including NFPA 30 Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code and NFPA 30A Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages, ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action and Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels, and Lubricants, the National Council of Weights and Measures, and the Transportation Energy Institute (formerly the Fuels Institute). He is also chairman of the NFPA Technical Committee on Tank Leakage and Repair Safeguards.
