Dan Klein

Head of Future Energy Pathways
S&P Global Commodity Insights

Dan is the Head of Future Energy Pathways at S&P Global Commodity Insights, leading the development of Commodity Insights’ long-term cross commodity energy outlook. Since 2017, he has led efforts to integrate the analysis of new technologies with existing fossil fuels into a balanced global veiw. He oversees work on forecasting the depolyment of electric vehicls, and its impact on oil and electricity demand and works closely with the Global Oil, Natural Gas, Coal, and other practices to evaluate the key assumptions underlying their outlooks, ensure internal consistency, and to develop plausible alternative assumptions and outcomes.

Dan previously headed up Coal analytics for Commodity Insights and PIRA Energy Group, as well as holding positions in electricy analysis at PIRA Energy Group. He has a B.A. in economics from Calvin University.
