Carl Rick grew up in Onalaska, WI and then attended UW-Platteville. While a student, he also gained retail experience working in several Kwik Trip convenience stores. Graduating with a degree in Social Studies Education he taught middle school in La Crosse, WI for five years. After an invitation, Carl decided to jump into the family business and played a role in Kwik Trip’s email and text programs. He then moved to Public Relations where he provided a “kwik” look at Kwik Trip to various community groups. He also oversaw the Audio-Visual Department. Since 2020 he has led the Training Department. His additional duties at Kwik Trip include being the third-generation spokesperson and other ownership responsibilities. Outside of Kwik Trip Carl coaches youth football and wrestling, co-chairs a parochial school board, serves on his church’s council and is on an advisory council at Viterbo University. Carl and his wife, Emily, reside outside of La Crosse, WI with their three children. In his spare time Carl enjoys just about any outdoor activity with his family, especially time on the river log rolling.
