Moving On: Easing Guests Post Pandemic Fears

October 7, 2021
9:15 AM - 10:15 AM CDT
Location: E450A

I made countless changes to my business in 2020 to meet federal and local mandates during the pandemic, but want to know what changes should be kept long term to put guests at ease and enhance their experience.

As we look at the changes that the pandemic brought to our industry, it’s important to examine and anticipate the things that might be here to stay for the long haul: drive through, individual packaging, and other touchless experiences. In this panel session, design expert Joe Bona will discuss with Mike Sherlock of Wawa and Charlie Mcilvane of Coen Markets just how their businesses have evolved and accelerated initiatives as it relates to consumer health and perception. The panel will delve into how the guest experience has changed not only operationally or functionally, but in design and form as well.

Objectives:

  • Define both functional and design projects that were fast tracked due to COVID-19
  • Anticipate changes you can make to your stores while remaining nimble
  • Decipher the changes that will be short term in our industry vs those that will be long term
