Hailing from the Rocky Mountain high city of Boulder, Colorado, Keelan Gallagher is the Director of Trade Marketing & Brands for Smoker Friendly International. A graduate of the University of Colorado, he has over 15 years in the tobacco business.
His interest in the industry grew from the exposure and opportunities that came from the multi-generation Gallagher family ownership of Smoker Friendly. As soon as Keelan was 18 he started working as a Smoker Friendly retail sales associate learning the frontlines of tobacco retail. During his college years he took the opportunity to work on international tobacco projects in Denmark and India.
Along with his business degree, these experiences gave him the knowledge and credibility to begin his career with Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company. This opportunity allowed him the chance to work with the Natural American Spirit brand during a time of tremendous growth. Keelan held multiple roles on the sales team, as well as managing the Integrated Cycle Planning process. Keelan then took an opportunity to join the team at Swedish Match North America. Spending time in the sales and trade marketing departments at Swedish Match allowed Keelan to enhance his knowledge of the OTP category by representing such brands as White Owl, Garcia y Vega, Redman, and Longhorn. During his time with these two great companies Keelan was able to live and work in Colorado, California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Virginia.
In 2014, at the same time recreational marijuana became legal in Colorado, Keelan returned to the family business at Smoker Friendly. The timing of his return has allowed direct exposure to the first legal recreational marijuana market. In his current capacity, Keelan manages the private label portfolio of Smoker Friendly branded products and the trade marketing for the Smoker Friendly Authorized Dealer network.
When he is not on the road or in the office, Keelan likes to play golf, ski, and collect vinyl records. He lives with his fiancé Zacarii and dog Dubya. They love to enjoy their Pax Era and listen to Iron Maiden and Dio records.
